This network supports two kinds of fellowships for visiting scholars at each partner university. One is a visiting professorship for a scholar affiliated with a university in mainland China or another Chinese-speaking country or region, enabling him or her to spend three months in this partner university in Europe or North America, where he or she will regularly interact with the faculty and students at this European or North American university working on Buddhism and East Asian cultures, in the form of weekly or biweekly meetings with them for reading one or one group of Buddhist texts, as well as public lectures delivered at the specific university.

The other type of fellowships is for graduate students affiliated with universities in China or another Chinese-speaking country or region, enabling each of them to spend six to twelve months at a partner university in Europe or North America, where he or she will constantly interact with its faculty and students working on Buddhism and East Asian cultures, including attending seminars, lectures, etc; when necessary, one fellowship recipient may divide his or her fellowship term between two or more partner universities in Europe and North America.
