The Cambridge Dunhuang Studies Conference 2019 is organized by the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Cambridge and the International Liaison Committee for Dunhuang Studies. Sponsors included the Centre for the Study of Manuscript Cultures (Hamburg University), the Needham Research Institute, the Glorisun Global Buddhist Network, the Dhammachai International Research Institute, and the 60th Dhammachai Education Foundation.
It is held at St. John’s College at Cambridge University from April 17-18, 2019.
There were nearly fifty presentations from scholars from China, Taiwan, Japan, France, the UK, USA, Russia and Denmark. This was a major landmark in Buddhist and Religious Studies as it was Cambridge’s first time hosting a conference on the subject of Dunhuang Studies.
